Tonight's Must-See

"Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss," 9 p.m., USA Network. This movie doesn't even pretend to have redeeming virtues. It makes no attempt to understand how a bright young woman, a doctor's daughter, could soar and then crash as a Hollywood madam. The best it can do is to tell us the world is full of jerks. Still, viewers will find this mildly diverting. Jamie-Lynn DiScala (Meadow on "The Sopranos") is terrific as Fleiss. The film offers glitzy settings and pretty people, some of whom keep their clothes on.

"The New Americans," 9 p.m., PBS; continues through Wednesday. The epic human drama of immigration is told in deep detail. One story follows an African family that has been waiting for years in a refugee camp before coming to America. Another shows young Dominicans, within reach of baseball stardom. Then there's a Palestinian beauty, nearing her college degree. After years of following Israeli rules, she has a chance to marry an American. It's an involving story.

Of Note

"The Haunting" (1999). 7 p.m., ABC. Lots of top-grade talent went into this movie, which only drew shrugs from critics and audiences. Jan De Bont ("Speed") directed Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson and more in the story of strangers at a scary mansion.

"The Bernie Mac Show," 7 p.m., Fox. During a family vacation, Bernie leaves for Las Vegas to party with the guys.

"Cracking Up," 7:30 p.m., Fox. Tanner's dad is upset that the kid is good in art, not sports.

"Everybody Loves Raymond," 8 p.m., CBS. Debra thinks it's time for Ally to do household chores. Alas, Marie — Ally's grandmother and Debra's mother-in-law — disagrees.

"Las Vegas," 8 p.m., NBC. When Ed leaves on a vacation, Danny is ready to be in charge. Soon, hundreds of hotel guests are locked out of their rooms. Danny learns there's more to this than he suspected.

"Average Joe: Adam Returns," 9 p.m., NBC. It's dirty-tricks time, again. When Adam gets a chance for "private dates," some of the women are able to spy on him.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. A political aide is killed while visiting a tough part of town.
