ANN SCOTT BYERS, 69, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Kahuku, died April 26, 2004. Born in Parkersburg, W.Va. An educator of the deaf from Orleans Parish in New Orleans. WINIFRED Y.H. CHING CHUN, 86, of Kane'ohe, died April 23, 2004. Born in Hawai'i. Retired sales manager for Lani Ware at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. CATHARINE HONEYMAN, 40, of Volcano, Hawai'i, died April 19, 2004. Born in Honolulu. Professional telephone counselor for a crisis hot line. Former Care-A-Van coordinator of the Waikiki Health Center. Survived by mother, Gail Halpern Cullen; father and stepmother, Peter and Sally Shootman; brother, Alex Shootman; sister, Jennifer Lehman; aunt and uncle, Pat and Gil Halpern. Former bandmaster of the former Hamakua County Band and Hawaii County Band, Band director at Kamehameha Schools, Honoka'a High School, Waiakea High School and St. Joseph Schools. Founding president of the Hamakua Music Festival. Survived by wife, Sharon; son, Kim; daughter, Robin Racoma, Wendy Turk and Kerry; stepson, Buddy Jah; stepdaughter, Ami Jah; brother, Glenn; sister, Marcia Meyer; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
