Bank employee arrested in theft

Police arrested a 28-year-old bank employee yesterday on suspicion of stealing $25,000 from a customer's account. The alleged theft occurred on April 21 at Central Pacific Bank's Makiki branch on Ke'eaumoku Street, police said.

The woman was arrested yesterday and booked on first-degree theft. She was later released pending further investigation.


Man released in marijuana case

A 36-year-old man arrested Monday by police after he allegedly accepted delivery of a mail parcel containing 3 1/2 pounds of marijuana was released yesterday pending further investigation. Police narcotics investigators intercepted the parcel sent from an undisclosed Mainland address at Honolulu International Airport and set up a controlled delivery to a Prospect Street residence.

The marijuana has an estimated street value of $31,000, police said.
