Tonight's Must-See

"Friends" finale, 8 p.m., NBC, with preview at 7 p.m. One of the most successful — and most fun — shows in TV history ends tonight. "Friends" has always had its doubters. To some, the stars are too pretty, the jokes are too slick. Beneath that shiny surface, however, each of the six characters is sharply defined. These young actors have fine comedy timing and great lines to deal with. Now comes the one-hour finale, simply entitled "The Last One." First is an hour of clips, appropriately titled "The One With All the Other Ones."

Of Note

"Great Expectations" (1998), 5, 9 p.m., Bravo. Charles Dickens' long-ago novel was moved to modern times with stylish direction from Alfonso Cuaron and a perfect cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert De Niro.
