Man killed in Kunia collision
A 52-year-old man was killed and two other men critically injured in a three-car collision yesterday.
Police said the victim was driving a GMC pickup north on Kunia Road when it was struck head-on by a Chevy van at about 3:15 p.m. Witnesses told police the driver of the van, a 48-year-old man, had been speeding and passing cars in the south direction.
Police said the van had just completed a pass, when the pickup slowed to avoid a collision. The pickup then was rear-ended by another car, which was driven by a 41-year-old man. That forced the pickup into the path of the van and they collided.
The three men were taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where the 52-year-old man died. The two other drivers were in critical condition.
