Services set for soldier killed in Iraq

Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Oscar "Big Daddy" Medina, who was killed May 1 when his convoy was attacked south of Al Amarah, Iraq, will be held tomorrow at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Medina was 32.

Medina was born on Feb. 4, 1972, in Chicago and was with the 84th Engineer Battalion, 25th Infantry Division (Light) at Schofield Barracks.

Medina is survived by his wife, Beate; son, Daniel Vargas; and mother, Francia Lopez.

Services with full military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at Punchbowl.
