Tennis scholarship: Kapa'a High senior Ashley Valvieja was awarded a $6,000 scholarship by the United States Tennis Education Foundation.

The scholarship is awarded annually to high school seniors who have excelled academically and participated extensively in USA Tennis programs.

She will attend the University of Northern Colorado in the fall.

Hawai'i Prep clinches: Hawai'i Prep defeated Waiakea, 6-3, yesterday to clinch the Big Island Interscholastic Federation's top seed in this week's HHSAA/Local Motion Water Polo State Championships.

Waiakea also earned a spot in the state tournament.

Kaimuki search: Kaimuki High School is looking for boys and girls soft tennis and tennis coaches, and a cheerleading coach.
