UH golfer Kodama will play in regional

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i senior Matt Kodama received a bid yesterday to compete in the NCAA West Regional on May 20-22 at Sunriver, Ore.

Kodama, of Las Vegas, ranks 57th nationally in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Twenty-seven teams and six individuals not on those teams will compete at the regional at the Crosswater Club. UH did not qualify as a team.

If Kodama finishes in the top two, he will qualify for the NCAA Finals on June 1-4 at Hot Springs, Va.

He had eight top-10 finishes in the Rainbows' 11 tournaments this season, and was a first-team all-Western Athletic Conference selection.
