A woman who allegedly stole nearly $1 million from the company she worked for during a four-year period has been indicted by an O'ahu grand jury on one count of first-degree theft, 13 counts of second-degree forgery and one count of money laundering.
The indictment filed on Wednesday alleges that Joann Rodrigues took the money from Aloha Termite and Pest Control between September 1999 and March 2003.
City Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Randal Lee said Rodrigues worked as a bookkeeper for the company. Rodrigues is accused of repeatedly making out checks for the purchase of chemicals, but then cashing the checks herself.
