After scoring 16 runs the day before, the University of Hawai'i-Hilo baseball team was shut out by Northern Colorado, 12-0, yesterday in Greeley, Colo.
"We couldn't hit today," said UHH coach Joey Estrella, whose team scratched out just six hits after getting 18 in the series-opening loss. "Hopefully, (the) day off will help us regroup to face New York Tech."
The Vulcans play New York Tech tomorrow in the inaugural game of the Division I Independent Baseball Invitational.
Host Northern Colorado will meet Pace University in today's other game.
The Vulcans will play Pace Friday, and Northern Colorado on Saturday.
