Coming June 8 to Blaisdell ...

Advertiser Staff

Fans of action star Jackie Chan will have a chance to see him in person June 8, if they buy tickets to a special screening of his latest film, a remake of "Around The World In 80 Days," at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall. The event will also serve as the official grand opening of Jackie's Kitchen at Ala Moana, Chan's first American restaurant, which opened in December.

The Honolulu screening pre-dates the film's June 16 national release. "Jackie will sing a couple of songs, say a couple of things to the audience and introduce the movie," said Tina McNealey, a spokeswoman for Jackie's Kitchen. "I've been told he's a pretty good singer."

The evening will also feature a silent auction of Chan memorabilia. Tickets are $35, $50 and $100; money raised benefits Hawai'i non-profits connected with the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Blaisdell box office, via phone at (877) 750-4400, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
