Moanalua's Perez, Kamehameha's Caycayon share golf lead

Moanalua's Ryan Perez and Kamehameha Schools' Chris Caycayon each shot par 72 yesterday to share the first-round lead of the HHSAA/David S. Ishii Foundation Boys State Golf Championship at Wailua Golf Course on Kaua'i.

Perez, who has committed to play at the University of Hawai'i, shot nines of 34-38 under sunny and calm conditions on the 6,650-yard layout.

Caycayon shot 39-33.

'Aiea's Jerel Lake shot 2-over 74, just ahead of a group of seven at 75.

Mililani, led by pair of 75s by Dane Serikaku and Bronson Kalilikane, shot 317 to take a one-stroke lead over King Kekaulike.
