State’s gas price at record high

Honolulu’s average price for regular gas rose to $2.205 a gallon, according to the AAA travel club survey posted today.

Wailuku, Maui’s average remained unchanged from the previous day at a high of $2.599 a gallon for regular gasoline.

The statewide average for regular rose to $2.293 a gallon, which also was a record. Hilo’s average dipped to $2.315 a gallon.

Hawai'i trails California, which on average pays $2.347 a gallon, and Oregon, which averages $2.304 for regular gasoline, according to the survey.
