Mia Shiraishi, a junior cheerleader at Punahou School, had some good luck while fishing aboard a 14-foot Achilles inflatable near Barking Sands on Kaua'i. The 17-year-old caught two ono (the larger one being 40 pounds) and some aku. "She goes like maybe twice a year," says her father, Sherman Shiraishi, who gaffed the fish and brought them on board for his daughter. "We're pretty lucky. I think that was the biggest fish she has ever caught." Pictures and information submitted to The Advertiser may be published or printed in print, electronic and other forms.
