Tonight's Must-See
"Still Standing," 7:30 p.m., CBS. Throughout the history of situation comedies, parents have been bellowing "my roof, my rules." Now comes a neat twist. Bill and Judy (Mark Addy and Jami Gertz) say that to Brian, their teen son who's a math whiz. He promptly moves. That's part of a clever episode that brings a bonus: While obsessing on their son, Bill and Judy never seem to notice that their daughter Lauren (Renee Olstead) is a fine singer. That leads to a fantasy scene in which Olstead, whose CD debuts Tuesday, sings "Summertime," backed by an orchestra. It's a great way to end the season and to start her music career.

But the best reason to check out the Hoku awards this year? Scheduled performances by Reichel and other nominees, including Jake Shimabukuro, Ho'okena, Maila Gibson, Kainani Kahaunaele, Kapena, Cecilio & Kapono and Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom. Broadcast live from the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Of Note
"A Beautiful Mind" (2001), 7 p.m., ABC. This is a stunning movie that is best seen with no advance information. Basically, it's a true story about a math genius. Ron Howard directs a superb cast, led by Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.
"Colonial House," 8 p.m., PBS; concludes tomorrow. There are shake-ups at the top tonight in this well-made reality show about modern people living 1638 lives. One leader resigns his post for philosophical reasons and another simply leaves; a third leaves for family reasons. Then there's the surprise.
