Hawaiian 84.6% full in April

Hawaiian Airlines filled 84.6 percent of its seats for April, the company said yesterday.

The airlines was second to JetBlue at 86.3 percent. Other top five airlines in the number of seats filled were Northwest, 80.2 percent; United, 79.9 percent; and US Airways, 79.8 percent.

Hawaiian's occupancy was up 5.6 percentage points from 79 percent in April 2003.



Honolulu gas hits $2.215

The average price for regular gasoline hit a high of $2.215 a gallon in Honolulu, according to the AAA travel club's fuel survey released yesterday. That helped push the statewide average for regular to a record $2.307 a gallon. In Wailuku, the average fell to $2.539 a gallon, and in Hilo the average dipped to $2.340 a gallon.
