University of Hawai'i women's soccer player Natasha Kai scored her team-leading sixth goal of the year as the U.S. Under-21 National team defeated a team of Brazilian Women's League All-Stars, 3-2, yesterday at Monte Siao Stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Kai, the two-time defending Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, scored the go-ahead goal just before halftime when she ran down a long ball from Amy LePeilbet and blasted it through the hands of the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Kai also scored in a 4-0 win over Paulistana Sunday.
In other news, a diary from Arizona State forward Manya Makoski, found on ussoccer.com, said, "We found out at dinner that forward Tasha Kai got covered in glass from a broken door she tried to open near the pool. I guess they don't teach you in Hawai'i that too much force on something made of glass that's not budging isn't a good idea."
