HOLES IN ONE
Mililani freshman gets special gift on Boys' Day
Colin Imaoka sank a hole in one at Leilehua Golf Course, the third of his career. |
May 5, 2004
Leilehua Golf Course
Hole No. 8, 302 yards (par 4), driver
Colin Imaoka, a freshman at Mililani High School, was having a friendly game of match play with teammate Bronson Kalilikane.
Those who are familiar with the eighth hole at Leilehua know that a large stately tree stands between the tee box and the green.
Colin hit his driver over the tree, but later couldn't find the ball after a minute of searching with his threesome.
One of the Mililani coaches, Abe Kealoha, suggested that the boys check the hole. Colin responded with skepticism.
Teammate Alex Chan looked into the hole and found Colin's ball lodged between the side of the hole and the pin.
A joyous roar erupted from teammate Devin Taga.
It was Colin's third hole in one.
What a Boys' Day!
