BUZZING ABOUT:

Come and ride Train. Remember the best soy latte that you ever had? We don't. In fact, we downright hate soy lattes. But the guys in Train sing about 'em a lot. That, and angels, drops of Jupiter, deep fried chicken, and a girl named Virginia whose hair is, like, always a mess. Train takes the main stage July 3 at McKenna Motors BayFest 2004. The three-day Marine Corps Base Hawai'i fest in Kane'ohe also features Liz Phair July 2, Jo Dee Messina July 4 and fireworks all three nights. Details: www.bayfesthawaii.com.

Yeah, but will he show up for "Shanghai Knights 3?" Action star Jackie Chan hosts a preview screening of his new movie "Around The World In 80 Days" for Honolulu fans June 8 at Blaisdell Concert Hall. Show starts at 7 p.m. He'll sing a bit, tell a couple of stories, introduce the movie and then leap headlong from the Blaisdell roof onto a moving Young's Laundry truck. The film premieres nationwide June 16. All proceeds from tickets — priced at $35, $50 and $100 — go to charity. And yes, we are joking about the Young's Laundry truck leap. Call 943-CHAN (2426) for more information; (877) 750-4400 for tickets.

Who ya callin' Stoopid? Surely you know all the words and sing along in the furo to the songs of SoCal skate punkers Slightly Stoopid. "Smoke Rasta"? "Punk Rock Billy"? "I'm So Stoned"? The Stoopid's cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane"? Classics all. So, yeah, we'll be at Slightly Stoopid's June 17 show at Pipeline Café, 'round 7 p.m. Tickets are $15. You can buy 'em by calling (877) 750-4400. And hey, Jackie Chan jumps off the Pipeline Café roof at show's end. Yup, joking again.
