DORIS JONGENEEL DAVLIN, 71, formerly of Honolulu and Kailua, died April 29, 2004. Born in Honolulu. Former professor at the University of Hawai'i who specialized in agriculture. Survived by husband, Andrew; daughter, Betsy Boyer; son, Glenn Boyer; five grandchildren; stepchildren, Cynthia Kittinger and Virginia-Marie, Helen, Dalton and William. Services and joint scattering of ashes with those of her sister, Ethel Stevens, off O'ahu June 29 for family. Open service 3:30 p.m. that day at Calvary By the Sea Lutheran church.
DONALD RICHARD FORD, 73, of Kane'ohe, died May 21, 2004. Born in Plymouth, Mass. Retired executive director of the American Lung Association of Hawai'i. Former employee of the U.S. State Department assigned to the American embassies in Manila and South Korea. Maj. Gen. RUSSELL L. WALDRON, 94, died May 11, 2004. He was one of the few Hickam Field Pearl Harbor survivors of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack, on base and in command of the 31st Bomb Group at the time. He also organized the efforts to locate and bomb the Japanese fleet and was a pilot in the three aircraft bombing missions that successfully bombed Wake Island on June 28, 1942 and returned to Midway island, a 13 hour flight and 2,100 nautical miles. Survived by wife, Ruth "Smitty"; daughters, Shirley Nied, Bonnie Copeland and Patricia Walsh; sons, Matthew, Jonathan and James; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchildren. Service held in Fairfield, Calif. Burial at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Memorial donations to Grace Episcopal Church, Fairfield, Calif. Arrangements by Bryan Braker Funeral Home.
