Arrest made in alleged car theft

A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted auto theft at 2:10 a.m. today after police found the man sitting in a van at 1200 Kina'u St.

They arrested the 35-year-old suspect without problem.

Death prompts investigation

Police have opened a homicide investigation into the death of a 49-year-old homeless man who died Saturday from injuries he suffered during a fight on Tuesday in Waikiki near the intersection of Kuhio Avenue and Duke's Lane.

The injured man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center to be treated for his fight-related injuries. His condition declined and he was pronounced dead on Saturday, police said.

Man robbed by two wearing masks

Police are looking for two men who wore Halloween masks while robbing a 20-year-old man in Kane'ohe last night.

The robbery victim told police he was walking along Kahekili Highway about 10:20 p.m. when two men approached him. One of the men pulled out a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, the robbery victim said.

He described one of the men as about 5-foot-10, having a muscular building and wearing an Oakland Raiders mask. The other was described as about 6 feet tall, with a slim build and wearing an "Alien" mask.
