QUICK BITES
Tapas promises 'layers of freshness'

Advertiser Staff

CHEF HIROSHI FUKUI

Hiroshi's Eurasion Tapas opens Friday at Restaurant Row in the remodeled site formerly occupied by its sister restaurant Sansei, which has moved to Waikiki. Chef Hiroshi Fukui, who developed the restaurant with Sansei owner D.K. Kodama and wine expert Chuck Furuya, says it will be a place for sharing small plates and large ($6.95 to $22.95), and though the food is upscale East-West, the atmosphere will be relaxed. Fukui, whose style is Japanese with a Western contemporary spin, says his aim is "Layers of freshness, not layers of complicated flavors." Hours: 6-10 p.m. nightly. Phone: 533-4476.
