Advertiser Staff

A 36-year-old Keolu Hills man, who has 63 prior arrests, was arrested again Monday on suspicion of stealing a car from a 20-year-old Kaimuki woman.

Police said the woman's neighbor saw a stranger breaking into the woman's white Honda about 4:25 a.m.

The neighbor called police with a description of the car, which was relayed to patrol officers working in the area.

They spotted the Honda speeding on the H-1 Freeway and caught up with it on Wilder Avenue near Oliver Street. One of the officers turned on his flashing lights to signal the Honda to stop. The driver stopped, but got out of the Honda and ran, police said.

They were able to catch and arrest him after a brief chase.
