Pacific setter Iseke Player of Week

 •  Loyola Marymount to retire Kimball's jersey
 •  ACC honors Duke's Lipsher, Ferguson

Pacific (Forest Grove, Ore.) freshman setter Anela Iseke was selected the Northwest Conference Player of the Week after leading the Boxers to two volleyball wins last week.

Iseke, a Kamehameha graduate from Honolulu, had 13 kills, 23 assists and 18 digs against Lewis & Clark to record the first triple double in the recent history of the program. She collected 20 kills with a .357 hitting percentage, 41 assists and 30 digs in two matches.

More Volleyball

• Fairfield (Conn.) freshman outside hitter Jazmin Pa'akaula (St. Joseph '04 of Hilo) earned her fifth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week award on Monday.

In two matches last week, Pa'akaula registered 27 kills in six games while finishing the week with a .400 hitting percentage.

• Santa Barbara City College sophomore libero Kalei Lau (Hilo '02) had 25 digs to lift the Vaqueros to a four-game win over Moorpark Friday.

Football

• Whitworth (Spokane, Wash.) redshirt freshman running back Chris Ahsing (Campbell of 'Ewa Beach) ran 19 times for 103 yards, including two 1-yard touchdown runs, in a 69-12 win over Lewis & Clark Saturday.

Whitworth freshman Shawn Agustin (Iolani '04 of Pearl City) made two interceptions and recorded four tackles.

• Occidental College (Los Angeles) junior linebacker Derek Turbin (Punahou '02 of Honolulu) had 14 tackles, including three solo, in a 27-16 win over Pomona-Pitzer Saturday.

Junior wide receiver Ric Fukushima (Moanalua '02 of Waipahu) caught six passes for 78, including an 18-yard TD pass.

• Colby College (Kan.) cornerback Travis Agustin (Iolani '02 of Pearl City) had three tackles and two passes defended in a 17-16 win over Bates Saturday.

Men's Soccer

• Boston College freshman forward Satoshi Mitsuda (Punahou '03 of Honolulu) netted the game-winner for the No. 10 Eagles, scoring off a header in a 1-0 overtime win over Northeastern Saturday.

Mitsuda's second goal of the season came in the 99th minute.

• Cascade College (Portland, Ore.) junior and team captain Mitchell Fu (Maryknoll '02) scored from 35 yards out from his sweeper position against Walla Walla College Oct. 17.

Women's Soccer

• Idaho State sophomore forward Jennifer Loo (Mililani '03) was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 27.

Loo helped the Bengals go undefeated, scoring a second-half goal against Portland State as the Bengals rallied to defeat the Vikings, 2-1. Loo also assisted on a goal that beat Sacramento State, 1-0.

She is tied for the team lead in points (10), leads in assists (4), shots (37) and shots on goal (14), and is tied for second in goals scored (3).

Men's Golf

• Loyola Marymount junior Chaz Inouye (St. Anthony '02) tied for 31st after shooting 232 at the Santa Clara Men's Invitational Oct. 26.

Women's Golf

• Yale freshman Lindsay Hong (Punahou '04 of Honolulu) finished tied for fourth at the John Kirk/Lady Panther tournament Oct. 26. She shot 76-73—149, helping Yale to a fourth-place finish.

• Pepperdine senior Rachel Kyono (Kaua'i '01 of Lawa'i) tied for second at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate Oct. 17. She shot a career-best 3-under 67 to finish at 3-under 207.

Cross Country

• San Diego State junior Christal Cuadra (Maryknoll '02 of Honolulu) was named to the Mountain West Conference second team after finishing 14th at the 6K MWC Championships Saturday. Cuadra finished in 23 minutes, 3 seconds.

• California sophomore Pippa Macdonald (Punahou '03) finished 69th in 23:11 at the 6K Pac-10 Championships Saturday.

• Michigan sophomore Todd Iacovelli (Punahou '02) finished 49th in 25:34 at the 8K Big Ten Championships Sunday

• Portland State senior Annie Kawasaki (St. Francis '01) placed 34th in 18:53 at the 5K Big Sky Championships Saturday.

Wrestling

• Several female wrestlers from Hawai'i performed well at The Sunkist International Open Sunday at Tempe, Ariz.

Clarissa Chun (Roosevelt '99 of Kapolei) finished second at 48 kg. Kristen Fujioka (Castle '01) and Katie Kunimoto (Castle '99) competed but did not place.

Debbi Sakai (Mililani '03) placed third at 51 kg, while Kapua Torres (Kahuku '03) competed but did not place.

Danielle Hedin (Kailua '04) placed fourth at 55 kg.

Ku'u Johnson (Radford) placed fourth at 67 kg.

Donnell Bradley (Radford '99 of 'Aiea) placed second at 72 kg.



Correction

• Menlo senior wide receiver Russ Fukushima (Moanalua '00 of Honolulu) had eight catches for 85 yards, including a 10-yard TD pass, and threw one pass for 10 yards in a 41-35 double overtime win Oct. 20. The wrong information was in last week's Homegrown Report.
