Nebraska's Ito fires 68, places 2nd

Nebraska senior Merynn Ito shot a 4-under-par 68 and placed second with a career-low 215 yesterday in the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate golf tournament at Kiawah Island, S.C.
Ito, a 2001 'Aiea High graduate, tied a school record with the 68. She shot 34 on the front nine Monday, then completed the round yesterday with another 34 before capping the tournament with a 1-over 73.
East Carolina's Adrienne Millican won with 213.
Ito's previous tournament best was a 223 in last year's Chip-N-Club Invitational.
Nebraska finished fourth with 889. Campbell won with 882.
UH's Wolfenbarger leads at Turtle Bay
Cody Wolfenbarger shot a 6-under 66 yesterday to take the lead after the second round of the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate at Turtle Bay's Palmer Course.
Wolfenbarger, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, has a two-round total of 9-under 135 to lead Liam Kendregan of St. Mary's by two strokes.
The Warriors are at 9-under 567 to trail leader UNLV by three strokes entering today's final round. Hawai'i-Hilo is 15th at 595, and Hawai'i-Manoa's B team is tied for 17th at 599.
Other UH golfers on the A team are: Jarett Hamamoto (69141, 11th), Ben Douglas (69145, tie for 25th), Pierre-Henri Soero (72147, tie for 39th) and Kellen-Floyd Asao (75150, tie for 59th).
