The University of Hawai'i has signed a contract in excess of $1 million with BMS Catastrophe, a Ft. Worth, Texas-based company that helped handle cleanup at the Pentagon after 9/11, to oversee cleanup at the Manoa campus after Saturday's disastrous flooding.

The company expects to bring 35 people to Hawai'i and begin unloading equipment later today that's being flown in for the massive effort. Another 150 people will be hired locally.

The company specializes in document recovery as well as moisture and microbial control.
