CONCERTS: Nov. 12, 14

George Takei, best known for his role as Sulu in the original "Star Trek" television and movie series, will narrate Aaron Copland's "A Lincoln Portrait" in the Honolulu Symphony's Veterans Day Tribute concerts. The program includes George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" for piano and orchestra, and Copland's Symphony No. 3, and also features Thomas Yee on piano. Maestro Samuel Wong directs. Tickets are $21-$64 (discounts for seniors, students and military).

CONCERT: Nov. 13

T.S.O.L. returns to Hawai'i to help celebrate the DVD release of "T.S.O.L. Live In Hawaii." Rock on to the True Sounds of Liberty as these Orange County boys bring down the house. Local rockers The Enhancements, The Hell Caminos and The Grave Robbers open. Tickets for the all-ages bash are $10 advance, $15 at the door.

STAGE: Nov. 13-21

Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center presents the original musical "Wha'Sup Fables 2004." Classic Aesop's tales are told with a local twist in this production, which is back after enjoying a popular run in 1999. Peggy Anne Siegmund directs a student cast that includes Justin Hashimoto, left, and Leilyn Lui. Tickets are $10 general, $5 children, high school students with ID and senior citizens over 65, and free for preschoolers. The Nov. 20 evening show is a benefit for the KHS Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

CONCERT: Nov. 14

It's a night of 1960s pop rock nostalgia as three acts that were part of the British Invasion head this way. Gerry and the Pacemakers, Herman's Hermits featuring Peter Noone and Chad & Jeremy bring back their hits from yesteryear with songs such as "I'm the One," "I'm Henry VIII, I Am" and "Yesterday's Gone." Tickets are $35 and $45.

CONCERT: Nov. 18

"Music Meets Aloha" is the title of a fund-raiser concert for the MAVIN Foundation, which supports bone marrow recruitment efforts for mixed-race individuals. Lending their talents for the show will be 'ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro, vocalist Maila Gibson, drummer Noel Okimoto, singer/songwriter from Japan Masayoshi Yamazaki and a three-man group from Australia called The Beautiful Girls. Tickets for seats are $35 advance and $38 at the door. For the lawn area, tickets are $20 advance and $23 at the door. Student, senior and military discounts are available. Doors open at 4 p.m.

CONCERT: Nov. 15

Award-winning concert pianist Jon Nakamatsu returns to Hawai'i for a five-city tour. A California native, Nakamatsu's Hawai'i ties stem from family members living on O'ahu. Also, his maternal grandmother was born on Maui. His smooth mastery of the ivories has taken him to performances in Brazil, Germany, France and Japan. His Honolulu appearance comes as part of the Chamber Music Hawaii 2004-2005 season. Tickets are $40.

FESTIVAL: Nov. 19-20

Get down and red-dirty culturally as the Hawaii United Okinawa Association presents the first Red Dirt Storytelling Festival. Four shows over two days features local storytellers talking about Hawai'i's rich heritage, as well as headliner and international storyteller Patrick Ball. The four shows offered will be "Tales Under a Tent," "Obake Tales," "Tales for the Entire Family" and "Tales from Island Cultures." Admission to "Tales Under a Tent" is free, and tickets for each of the remaining three shows are $5 general, and $3 children 12 and younger. A weekend pass is $13 adults, $6 children.

SPORTS: Nov. 30

The most famous basketball team in the world swoops in for a slam dunk at the Blaisdell as part of its Asia-Pacific tour. Formed in 1926, the Harlem Globetrotters have performed in 117 countries and played in front of more than 120 million fans. The revered team has gone on to spawn dozens of notable names, including Wilt Chamberlain, Marques Haynes and Hubert "Geese" Ausbie. Tickets are $35 courtside/side risers, $25 risers, $15 and $10 upper levels. Children 12 and younger, seniors 65 and older and military with ID receive discounts of $3 off the $35 and $25 tickets and $2 off the $15 and $10 prices. Groups of 20 or more receive a 10 percent discount by calling 732-7733.

FESTIVAL: Dec. 3-5

The Queen's Medical Center Auxiliary presents the 50th and final year of its popular Christmas tradition, the Festival of Trees. Besides miniature Christmas trees decorated by local celebrities, the festival also features a holiday bazaar and silent auction. The event serves as a fund-raiser for the new Women's Health Center. Admission is a $1 donation. Children 12 and younger are free.

STAGE: Dec. 3-19

Diamond Head Theatre's 90th season continues with the fun-loving musical, "Seussical." Dr. Seuss characters jump off the page and on to the stage in this colorful and whimsical production, including Gertrude McFuzz, Horton the Elephant and, of course, the Cat in the Hat. Young Jojo relates these jolly tales in a play that appeals to kids and kids at heart. Greg Zane directs. Tickets are $12-$42, with discounts for full-time students, seniors 62 and older and active-duty military.

Reggae concert Nov. 27

The 3rd annual Super Stars of Reggae concert hits the Waikiki Shell Nov. 27 with Aswad, Barrington Levy and Yellowman & The Sagittarius Band. The sound of cello
