Police investigate stabbing death

Police last night were investigating a stabbing in Wahiawa that left one man dead.
The man was stabbed shortly after 7:30 p.m. in Wahiawa town, police said. Details were not available, but police said the man was driven to Wahiawa General Hospital by his girlfriend and later died of his injuries.
Police late last night were searching for the person who stabbed the man.
Snorkeler dies on trip off Lana'i
Maui police investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy on a 61-year-old Denver man who stopped breathing Wednesday during a snorkeling trip off Lana'i.
Investigators said the man was part of a snorkeling tour operated by the Pacific Whale Foundation.
Crew members were alerted of the problem about 11:50 a.m. and took the man to Manele Harbor on Lana'i while trying to revive him. He was taken by ambulance to Lana'i Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:55 p.m. Stolen check leads to man's arrest
A 26-year-old man was arrested at a Wai'anae bank Wednesday after he allegedly tried to cash a check stolen during an car break-in.
Police said the man tried to cash the check about 12:10 p.m.
The teller's computer flagged the check as having been reported stolen. The teller contacted the account holder, who confirmed the check had been stolen.
The man was detained until police officers arrived and arrested him on suspicion of forgery.
Waikiki robbery, assault reported
Police are investigating a report filed by a 25-year-old man who said he was robbed early Wednesday near Kalakaua Avenue and the Ala Wai promenade.
The victim said the robber struck him from behind with a large revolver and then took his clothing.
Officer injured in traffic arrest
HILO, Hawai'i A Big Island police officer suffered a cracked kneecap early Tuesday while arresting a motorist.
Capt. Robert Hickcox said the incident happened around 2 a.m. when Kailua patrol officer Clarence Davies began pursuing a motorist for a traffic violation. When the car pulled over, the driver tried to run away, Hickcox said. Davies caught the man, and during a struggle, the two tumbled down a 3- to 4-foot slope at a condominium complex off Ali'i Drive.
Despite his injury, Davies arrested Kanuela "Boomer" Tanoai for 14 traffic violations. Tanoai, 36, was being held at Hawai'i Community Correctional Center yesterday, and Hickcox said he likely will face additional charges.
Parolee sought in sex assault case
Police are searching for a 20-year-old Honolulu man wanted on a parole revocation warrant and for questioning in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
Jeffrey Mark Farrish Jr. is described as 6 feet 1, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
On Aug. 21, the girl met a man and his friends in Waikiki, police said. The group went back to the girl's house, where she fell asleep and awoke to find a man assaulting her, police said. The man fled the house after allegedly stealing a computer, cell phone, Sony PlayStation and DVDs.
Farrish frequents 'Ewa Beach, Salt Lake, Ala Moana and Waikiki, police said.
