SPENCER EDMUND AAMOT, 76, of Kealakekua, Hawai'i, died Sept. 20, 2004. Born in Minot, N.D. An inspector with the FAA for McDonald Douglas Aircraft. Survived by sons, Jeffrey and James; daughter, Janice Polley; eight grandchildren. Private service held. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary, Kona.

MELVIN "MEL" De FREITAS SR., 73, of Waipahu, died Oct. 28, 2004. Born in Honolulu. A retired carpenter. Survived by wife, Katherine; sons, Elliot Freitas and Melvin Freitas Jr.; daughters, Stephanie Camara, Katherine Marrone, Dorinda Freitas and Sabrina Martin; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert and Walter Freitas. Visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary; service 11 a.m.; burial 2 p.m. at Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery. No flowers. Casual attire.

ALBERT "BIG AL" KON JR., 61, of Kapa'a, Kaua'i, died Nov. 4, 2004. Born in Lihu'e, Kaua'i. A security officer. Survived by wife, Arlene; daughter, Alice Wieltz; son, Jason Byrge; granddaughter; sisters, Helen Sa, Alice Kaahu and Sweetie Azevedo; stepsons, Chas McGee and Anthony "Toa" Hepa; stepdaughters, Toni and Velene McGee, Tracie Furumoto, Billie Vai and Lainie Wojak. CLARA PASCUA MAINAAUPO, 75, of Pearl City, died Oct. 22, 2004. Born in Honolulu. A member of the Pau Hana Glee Club. Waitress at the original Columbia Inn and Shiro's in Pearl City. Survived by son, Alex Rozal; daughters, Regina Felix and Lou Anna Barham; sisters, Rose Skelton, Mary Bartolome, Dorothy Varde, Sarah Jane Andrews, Gloria Nagata and Dolores Castillo; half sisters, Melva Beckham and Belinda Cheney; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; service 7 p.m. Visitation also 9 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary; service 10:45 a.m.; burial 11 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. KENTOKU "KENTOP" NAKASONE, 83, of Honolulu, died Nov. 2, 2004. Born in Lahaina, Maui. A retired diesel mechanic. Survived by daughters, Karen Hare, Lynne Mattos and Iris; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
