Survived by sons, Jeffrey and James; daughter, Janice Polley; eight grandchildren. Private service held. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary, Kona. MELVIN "MEL" De FREITAS SR., 73, of Waipahu, died Oct. 28, 2004. Born in Honolulu. A retired carpenter. Survived by wife, Katherine; sons, Elliot Freitas and Melvin Freitas Jr.; daughters, Stephanie Camara, Katherine Marrone, Dorinda Freitas and Sabrina Martin; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert and Walter Freitas.
