Francisco, Kemoeatu invited to Hula Bowl

Advertiser Staff

Two former Kahuku High standouts — Brigham Young defensive back Aaron Francisco and Utah offensive lineman Chris Kemoeatu — have been invited to play in the Hula Bowl Maui.

The all-star football game will be played Jan. 22 at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, Maui.

Kemoeatu, a 2001 graduate, has been a three-year starter for the Utes, ranked No. 6 in the Bowl Championship Series poll and No. 7 by The Associated Press.

At 6 feet 4 and 338 pounds, Kemoeatu is considered one of the top offensive lineman in the upcoming NFL draft.

Francisco, a 2001 graduate, was a first team all-Mountain West Conference selection last year and an honorable mention as a sophomore.

Francisco is 6 feet 2 and 215 pounds with 4.5 speed over 40 yards.

They will join five University of Hawai'i players who have been invited. The UH representatives will be quarterback Tim Chang, slotback Chad Owens, offensive lineman Uriah Moenoa, defensive back Abraham Elimimian and defensive tackle Lui Fuga.
