King Kekaulike rolls past Lahainaluna

Advertiser Staff

Josh Wilhelm rushed 11 times for 133 yards, including a 56-yard touchdown, to lead host King Kekaulike to a 27-7 victory over Lahainaluna in a Maui Interscholastic League football game at Pukalani, Maui, last night.

Lahainaluna (8-1-1 overall, 3-1 in the MIL second half) missed an opportunity to clinch the MIL overall title. It can still clinch the title if Baldwin beats Maui in the regular season finale tonight.

A Maui victory would give King Kekaulike the second-round championship and would force a playoff on Nov. 12.

In another game, Pac-Three defeated Kamehameha, 21-6, to win the MIL Division II title and Maui's berth in the DII state tournament.

Pac-Three is 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the MIL second half. Kamehameha finished 0-8 and 0-3.
