The ceremony marked the start of construction on the first of six phases of the Discovery Zone. The 8,000-square-foot Keiki Zoo, including a renovated barn, will replace the Children's Zoo and is expected to be completed in August. It will offer botanical exhibits and opportunities for contact with tame animals.
