Women to share stories at leadership conference

Top women leaders in a number of fields will gather next week in Honolulu for the inaugural two-day International Women's Leadership Conference being hosted by Gov. Linda Lingle.

The conference will be held Nov. 17-19 at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Its theme is "Women of Inspiration: Their Personal Stories."

Women leaders in business, travel, healthcare, communications, education and government will share information, strategies and skills required for career advancement.

Among the speakers will be Michelle Peluso, president and chief executive officer of Travelocity; Sonia Aranza, president of Aranza Communications; Melinda Bush, president and chief executive officer of Hospitality Resources Worldwide and Insider Collection; Renee Amoore, president of The Amoore Group; Rina Bar-Tai, chairwoman of the Israel Women's Network; Gail Wilensky, the John M. Olin senior fellow at Project HOPE; Merle Okawara, chairwoman and chief executive officer of JC Comsa Corp. of Japan; and Annie Wu, vice chairwoman of Beijing Air Catering Ltd.

The conference is supported by the Hawai'i State Commission on the Status of Women, the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i, Pacific Business News, American Savings Bank and Security Resources.
