Let Hannemann OK Harris nominee list

City Council members are shocked that Mayor Jeremy Harris has nominated more than 30 people to various city boards and commissions, even though he's got less than two months left in office.

Harris spokeswoman Carol Costa points out that nine of the nominees are reappointments needed to ensure that certain boards can form a quorum. We'd add that all of the boards and commissions involved should be working at full strength if at all possible.

The answer is simple: Mayor-elect Mufi Hannemann and Harris should put their heads together. Harris should pull back any names Hannemann objects to, and the council should confirm the rest.

There's no need to get into a snit over such a manini problem.
