Verizon Net deal has higher speed

Verizon Hawaii is offering a higher-speed digital subscriber line Internet service at a higher price.

For $44.95 a month, or $39.95 when packaged with Verizon local and long-distance services, subscribers can upgrade to download speeds of up to 3 megabits per second, and upload speeds of up to 768 kilobits per second.

Verizon Hawaii also is offering a wireless gateway for home users free with a one-year service contract. Small- and medium-size businesses also can subscribe to the higher-speed service at business rates.
