Momoa, Takeo display works

Artists Jason Momoa (mixed-media; he's also known for his roles in TV series "North Shore" and "Baywatch Hawaii") and Takeo (fashion designer) have works at the Pegge Hopper Gallery today through Nov. 27, with an opening reception from 6 to 8:30 tonight. Takeo's dresses, photographs of his designs and drawings from the past three decades will be on display, as will Momoa's artistic combinations of various mediums and found materials.

The gallery is open to the public 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. 524-1160.


'King and I' opens run at Fort Shafter theater

Ray Bumatai is the King of Siam and Tina Shelton is school teacher Anna in the Rodgers and Hammerstein evergreen, "The King and I," premiering at 7:30 tonight at Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter. The Army Community Theatre musical — with hummable hits such as "Getting To Know You," "Shall We Dance," and "Hello, Young Lovers" — plays at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 4. Tickets: $17 and $14 for adults, $10 and $8 for children 12 and younger. 438-4480.
