Jacobsen, Funk will play in junior event

Advertiser Staff

Peter Jacobsen and Fred Funk have committed to play in the 2005 First Hawaiian Bank Pro-Junior Golf Challenge. The exhibition will be Jan. 11, the Tuesday preceding the Sony Open in Hawai'i at Waialae Country Club.

The Challenge format has six pros teamed with six of Hawai'i's finest juniors. U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen and 2002 Sony champion Jerry Kelly committed to the Challenge earlier.

Funk has made more than $2 million in his 25-year PGA Tour career and has two top-10 Sony finishes. Jacobsen won seven times on the regular tour. He turned 50 this year to become eligible for the Champions Tour, and won the U.S. Senior Open.

There is no admission charge for the Challenge.
