The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team eased to a 30-21, 30-28, 30-28 exhibition victory over Pacific last night before a crowd of more than 1,200 in the University of Hawai'i-Hilo's gym.

The Warriors improved to 2-0 in this four-matches-on-four-islands series.

The teams meet in Moloka'i High's gym tonight.

Opposite hitter Matt Bender pounded out a team-high 16 kills and outside hitter José José Delgado contributed 14 kills in 18 swings.

Unlike the first game of the opening match on Wednesday, the Warriors were calm from the first serve.

"No jitters at all," UH coach Mike Wilton said. "None."

Wilton stayed all the way with setter Daniel Rasay, who was pulled in Game 1 Wednesday.

"He set very well," Wilton said.

Eric Kalima, who is battling Alfred Reft for the starting job at libero, helped the Warriors dig and pass the Tigers' best shots.

"We were getting good swings out of the defensive play," Wilton said. "I thought our offense was better tonight. We passed better. We were able to be in our system a little bit more. That's why we had a higher hitting percentage."

UH middle blocker Mauli'a LaBarre was perfect on eight swings.
