Ryan, left, and Stephen Valenciano show off some of the salmon the brothers caught while on a fishing trip to Tofino on Vancouver Island, with their father, Placido. Ryan, 10, landed a 17-pound king while Stephen, 13, brought in a 28-pound chinook. Placido landed the biggest salmon at 48 pounds. "That's the second time we went in two years," Placido said of his fishing trip to Canada. The trio, who live Lihu'e, Kaua'i, caught 20 salmon that day (after catching none on the previous trip) and kept three.
