Kalaheo's Smith signs with Pepperdine
Kalaheo High School senior Taylor Smith has signed a national letter of intent to attend Pepperdine University on a women's basketball scholarship.
Smith, a 5-foot-11 guard/forward, was a second-team all-star as a sophomore in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's highly competitive Eastern Division in 2002. Three of the first-team all-stars from that year are now playing college basketball, and a fourth is playing college volleyball.
Smith missed most of last season because of a foot injury, but returned to help Kalaheo win a game in the state tournament.
