THE LEFT LANE
Seinfeld promo is worth watching

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Seinfeld junkies, gather around the tube as NBC unveils "The 'Seinfeld' Story" at 9 tonight. It's the cast's first reunion show since it left the air in 1998. Nostalgia? Nah. It's a clever way to boost sales — but the commentary from the cast and creator Larry David make it worth watching.

Drop off a new toy to bring some joy to an animal

The Hawaiian Humane Society wants to make sure every animal adopted in December gets a new toy for Christmas along with its new human family.

Toys ease the move to a new home and help owners bond with their animals.

Drop off toys through Tuesday in the toy bin on the Humane Society's lanai. Toys are also being collected at Bark Avenue in Koko Marina Center.

FINAL WORD

Robert Hilburn | Los Angeles Times writer, reviewing U2 and its latest CD, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb":

"Seventeen years ago, U2 spoke about spiritual thirst in one of its signature songs, 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.' It offered the comforting belief that time will provide all the answers. Now, the older, more philosophical Bono realizes that there are mysteries in life and faith that may never be solved, and the heart of the album deals with adjusting to that."
