Jones named tech educator of 2004
Dr. Gordon Jones, Hawai'i Pacific University's dean of the College of Professional Studies, has been named Technology Educator of the Year by the Pacific Technology Foundation and the Technology News Network for 2004.
Dr. Jones is receiving this honor for his commitment to providing valuable technical, educational and moral support for his students and earning the respect and recognition of his colleagues in education and the community.
The University of Hawai'i Foundation has appointed Mark Fukeda director of development for the University of Hawai'ii Manoa's College of Education. He most recently was the director of development for UH-Manoa's College of Engineering. He will be responsible for raising major gifts from private donors.
Outstanding Hawai'i 4-H members recently attended the 83rd National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.
They are: from Maui, Heather Hirata, Karisse Wakamatsu, Liane Nakamae, Ashley Deeks, Claire Fukuoka, Caitlin Shishido, Nicole Wachi and Carrie Yap; from West Hawai'i, Kasha Kim, Kimberly Manago, Chelsee Furukawa, Erin Kojima and Breanna Akama; East Hawai'i, Kristen Bautista, Blaire Fujimoto and Lauren Seu; from Kaua'i, Kellyn Tanaka, Kristin Tone and Jenna Yamamoto.
Gerald Shintaku, customer business manager of Kraft Food North America, Northwest Region-Hawai'i, was recently honored at the National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards, hosted by the Organization of Chinese Americans.
