Advertiser Staff

Punahou School senior Sarah Weisskopf has signed a national letter of intent to play softball for the University of Hawai'i-Hilo, according to Vulcans coach Callen Perreira.

"Sarah is a versatile athlete with the ability to pitch and play the infield corner positions," Perreira said.

Weisskopf, last season's Interscholastic League of Honolulu Player of the Year, posted an 8-3 pitching record with an 0.96 ERA. She struck out 55 in 80 innings.

Weisskopf, who batted .450 with five doubles, was named to The Advertiser's All-State first team.
