Mandel brings the laughs

Funny guy Howie Mandel heads this way for a pair of New Year's Eve concerts, 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki. Tickets — $35 for the early show, $45 for the second show — are on sale at the Blaisdell box office, Ticketmaster outlets and at ticketmaster.com. (877) 750-4400.

Emme celebrates

An all-star lineup of entertainers will be featured at a concert and TV taping of "Emme's Island Moments," which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Among the performers at the Dec. 8 event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Tapa Ballroom: Willie K., The Makaha Sons, Hapa, Melveen Leed and Jordan Segundo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; taping begins at 7:45 p.m.
