Advertiser Staff

Three University of Hawai'i football players today were named to the 2004 Western Athletic Conference all-star first team: Tim Chang, Chad Owens and Abraham Elimimian. Owens was named as a receiver.

Samson Satele was named to the second team, along with Owens who was named as punt returner.

Chang, a fifth-year senior from Saint Louis School, leads the WAC in passing yards (312.5 per game) and is third nationally in total offense (311.2 yards per game).

This season, he became the most prolific passer in NCAA history. He has passed for 16,251 yards in 51 games as a Warrior.

Owens, a fifth-year senior from Roosevelt High, is a double threat as a slotback and punt returner. He is seventh nationally in receiving (7.36 catches per game). He has returned four punts for touchdowns this season.

Satele, a third-year sophomore who was named to the All-America Freshman team last season, started the first nine games at left guard before moving to center. He leads the Warriors with 38 knockdown blocks.

Elimimian, a fifth-year senior, has endured a variety of leg injuries to emerge as the Warriors' best cover defender. He has five interceptions and seven pass breakups. He also blocked a kick.
