Two 2001 graduates of Kahuku High were named to the Mountain West Conference first team in football, the league announced yesterday.
Utah senior offensive lineman Chris Kemoeatu received his first first-team honor after being an honorable-mention selection last season, and Brigham Young senior defensive back Aaron Francisco received the honor for the second straight year.
Kemoeatu
According to nfldraftblitz.com, Kemoeatu, who is 6 feet 4 and 338 pounds, "possesses great offensive guard size. Has excellent quickness and overall ability for a big man. Is a nasty player who possesses a real mean streak."
Francisco recorded 88 tackles, one sack and one interception this season.
According to nfldraftblitz.com, the 6-2, 215-pound Francisco is "one of the hardest hitting safeties in all of college football to the point that he is considered dangerous to himself.
"Definitely the type of player who will give his all for the team on and off the football field."
Both players are scheduled to play in the Hula Bowl Jan. 22 in Wailuku, Maui.
