Driver of stolen mo-ped arrested

A 24-year-old Honolulu man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of stealing a mo-ped from a 45-year-old man.

A police officer noticed that a mo-ped being ridden by the younger man did not have a license sticker.

The officer ordered the mo-ped rider to pull over, and after checking with the mo-ped's registered owner, determined that it had been stolen but not yet reported.

The officer arrested the moped rider at 4:10 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Zoo car break-in leads to an arrest

A man who parked his car yesterday at the Honolulu Zoo in Waikiki returned about 12:30 p.m. to find a stranger inside the vehicle and rummaging through it.

The owner was able to detain the intruder until police arrived and made an arrest on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

2 men arrested on felony charges

A security guard's suspicions resulted in the arrests of two men in Foster Village yesterday morning on a variety of felony charges.

The guard watched as the two men, 23 and 18, got out of a white Honda Civic about 9:30 a.m. and began to act suspiciously.

The guard called police, and arriving officers found the Honda the two men were riding in parked next to another Honda.

The officers quickly determined that both cars had been reported stolen. The man who was driving the Honda when the security guard first saw it was arrested on suspicion of auto theft. While he was being arrested, the second man threatened to harm the officers and was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threatening.

While the two men were being booked at the Pearl City police station, the registration documents for one of the two Hondas were found in the pocket of one of the men, who was then arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
