Man killed in Waipahu crash

Advertiser Staff

One man is dead and another was left critically injured after a one-car accident at about 2:20 a.m. yesterday on Farrington Highway in Waipahu.

The men, both in their 20s, were in a brown Toyota traveling west on Farrington near the intersection of Mokuloa Street when the car veered toward the center and jumped the raised median, striking two traffic control poles.

The car continued over the median and into the intersection, striking two more poles and a sign before overturning. The man who died was ejected from the car.

The second man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Police believe that speed was a factor in the wreck.
