Wahine defender Uecker honored by WAC

University of Hawai'i senior defender Jessica Uecker was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Rainbow Wahine to two shutout conference wins over the weekend.Uecker, from Rapid City, S.D, anchored a defense that posted its fifth straight shutout and limited Rice and Tulsa to a combined six shots-on-goal, while adding an assist against Tulsa.
It is the second career WAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for Uecker, who earned her first honor as a sophomore.
