Kaimuki man robbed at home

Police today were looking for two men in their 30s who robbed a 28-year-old man at his Kaimuki apartment last night.

The victim told police he was at home with the front door ajar when the two men came in unannounced about 11:30 p.m., pulled out handguns and demanded to know where he kept his valuables.

One of the intruders showed a badge, police said.

The two men took items from the apartment as the victim dialed 911 on his cellular telephone to report the intruders, police said.

The two men fled before police arrived.

Woman held after park attack

A 54-year-old woman was arrested in Kapi'olani Park last night on suspicion of second-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Two men, 31 and 32, told police they were sitting on a park bench near the bandstand, talking and laughing, when they apparently woke the woman.

The two men said the woman got angry and came at them with a knife in each hand.

The men said they were walking away from the woman when she threw a bottle at them, hitting one of the men on the right leg.

Police are checking on a complaint by an 18-year-old Palolo woman who said she was sexually assaulted by her brother-in-law early yesterday morning.

The woman told police she awoke about 4 a.m. to find the man, 24, assaulting her. The two live in the same home.

The brother-in-law was arrested on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

Lack of seat belt leads to arrest

Failure to wear a seat belt led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man in Hale'iwa yesterday on suspicion of car theft.

Police said a patrol officer saw the man driving without a seat belt and ran a check on the car's license plate as he was preparing to pull the man over to give him a ticket.

The car had been reported stolen, and the officer stopped it and arrested the man about 1:45 p.m., police said.
